I was determined to get to at least one homemade gift project this season and I am happy to say that I did and this was a lot of fun…and very tasty. I have had 3 mugs of hot cocoa already – I did have to test my recipe ya know!
Present a gift of homemade “One Cup” Mini Hot Chocolate Mixes, no Keurig required!
You can just do one small token gift or mix it up and make a larger gift of various hot cocoa flavors.
Such a fun gift!
Here are the jars and labels that I used…
One Cup Homemade Hot Chocolate Mix
Gather: (makes one large mug)
2 rounded Tblsp good quality powdered/instant milk (it dissolves better if good quality)
1 rounded Tblsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1/8 tsp salt
2 heaping Tblsp chocolate chips or flavored chips
small size jelly jars (4 oz.)
Fill the mini jelly jar by layering to your liking: perhaps…
– powdered milk and salt on bottom, cocoa in middle and chips on top
– scoop the powdered milk and salt onto one side and the cocoa onto the other then top with chips
Add a note with your jar or jars as directions “to fill a large mug with hot water, add contents of jelly jar and stir until all is melted and yummy!”
Don’t forget to dollop with whipped cream and a cherry, sprinkles or a dusting of cocoa powder!
For Mocha Cocoa add 1 tsp instant coffee and use 2 Tblsp regular or mini chocolate chips
